1. Website Design and Tech Support Assistant Intern
Blooming Ladies™ Multi-Stakeholder Co-operative is looking for a Website Design and Tech Support Assistant Intern to join our team. The Intern will be responsible for building our website from concept all the way to completion from the bottom up, fashioning everything from the home page to site layout and function.
Responsibilities include:
- Writing well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Creating website layout/user interfaces by using standard HTML/CSS practices
- Integrating data from various back-end services and databases
- Able to offer tech support for software
- Good understanding of other CMS platforms, eg WordPress
- Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
- Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent
Requirements:
- Programming skills and knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
- Familiarity with at least one of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, Javascript or Ruby on Rails
- An understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
- Knowledge of network diagnostics, network analytics tools
- Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process
- Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
- Should be in a higher institution in Canada
- Must be a PR holder or Canadian citizen
Time Commitment: 10-20 hours weekly. Hours and work dates are flexible and may be set according to an intern’s class/work schedule.
2. Marketing and Communications Intern
Blooming Ladies™ Multi-Stakeholder Co-operative is looking for a Marketing and Communications Intern to join our team. Below are some of the responsibilities of the Intern:
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and managing the company’s social media marketing on multiple platforms executing a results-driven social media strategy
- Assist in planning, writing and managing email marketing
- Create content to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around the Blooming Ladies brand.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms ensuring maximum effectiveness
- Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
- Assist with the design of flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing materials
- Preparing marketing proposals, grants and presentations based on company needs
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well with others or independently
- Initiative to problem solve, if necessary
- Responsibility to complete projects by a pre-determined deadline
- Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately in oral and written language
- Proficient in the usage of word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software; other software (Canva, photo editing, video, etc.)
- Accurate and detail-oriented.
- Should be in a higher institution in Canada
- Must be a PR holder or Canadian citizen
